陳姿婷助理教授於研究所時期即針對海洋水下相關研究進行深探，其研究領域為：

水下搜尋與量測：多音束聲納海底地形量測、水下載具（AUV）的精準探測
-
水中聲學：水文環境與地形效應對三維水中聲學傳播的不確定性、沉積物分析與地聲反算模式
-
海洋環境聲學：海洋環境噪聲和人為噪聲對海洋生態系統的影響、水下定位和測量技術的開發
-
海域資源探勘：熱液與冷泉生態系之潛能評估、海域地形資料庫及海床底質屬性分類圖建置
-
海洋地質調查與環境監測：離岸風場地形變遷、海域碳封存地質調查與監測、水下文資調查等
